Have you thought about publishing but not sure when your paper is “good enough”? Are you interested in learning how to navigate the publication world? What does it mean when people talk about different tiers of journals? Join us for an informal yet educational workshop designed to help both undergraduate and graduate students understand the publication process from beginning to end for archaeological journals of all kinds. A panel of prolific archaeologists, publishers and editorial staff will discuss the publication process including issues such as when to submit, when is a paper ready and how publications help you. A question and answer session with the panelists and a small reception with lunch will follow the workshop.

Registration for the MAC 2012 Student Workshop is limited to 70 participants, and is on a first come, first served basis.  Lunch will be provided for all registered attendees. To register, please fill out the MAC 2012 Student Workshop Registration Form.

We are happy to announce that deadlines for abstract submission & registration for the 2012 Midwest Archaeological Conference have been extended to September 17th.

By way of reminder, September 17th is also the deadline to take advantage of the special conference room rate at the  Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center (see Conference Location & Logistics for further details).

MAC 2012 Conference attendees should also be advised that because of an additional conference that is taking place on the MSU campus the same weekend, it is unlikely that there will be any available rooms at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center after the September 17th deadline.  As a result, attendees should make hotel plans (either at the conference hotel or any other local hotel) sooner rather than later.

The 2012 Annual Midwest Archaeological Conference will be hosted on the campus of Michigan State University at The Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center, October 18-21, 2012

The Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center is offering a special rate (single or double occupancy) for the 2012 Midwest Archaeological Conference:

In order to take advantage of the conference room rate, all reservations must be made no later than September 17th, 2012.
